The Blushproof® Bamboo Bikini-Style Period Panties are one of our customers' favourites offering everyday comfort and leakproof protection, as well as super soft thermoregulating ribbed bamboo fabric.

  • Eco-Friendly: No disposable pads, tampons or cups needed, making them great for you and the planet.
  • Toxin-free Pad: Our pad fabric meets the highest safety standards.

Note: While the panty shell is made from bamboo, the gusset uses high-performance wicking fabric to ensure dryness and comfort, as bamboo doesn't wick away flow effectively. (The same can be said for cotton.)


At Blushproof®, we try our best to match our sizing to popular retailers, Woolworths and Cotton on. For example, if your daughter generally wears Age 11 (or Age 11-12) then our Tween products, size - Age 11 should fit. Take note, if your daughter is, for example 11, but you normally buy her size Small underwear, then please choose size Small Blushproofs. Tween age 11 will be too small! For Tween sizing, size Age 13-14 in other stores is generally the same as Blushproof Tween Age 13 or Blushproof Adult Size XS.

Another example, if you buy Large for yourself, then you'll purchase Blushproofs in a size Large.

Note: Jockey sizes tend to run smaller, so a Jockey Large is closer to a Blushproof Medium.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the problem and correct it.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging. You have 7 days in which to log a return.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@blushproof.co.za. Please send photos showing any issues.

Refunds due to damages or issues
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund has been approved or not. If approved, you will be refunded via EFT. Refunds can take up to 7 days to process.

They are such an amazing thing to have. My daughter just started her period and I rushed off to order immediately. What would be best for someone who wants to wear them at night and on lighter days. I usually only have to use regular or mini tampons. My flow isn’t super heavy.

Blushproof

For light flow, our moderate absorption works well. The pad is longer at the back, which is great for night time as we tend to move around whilst sleeping. The pad is very thin, maybe 2mm which means it won't feel uncomfortable.

I'd like a list of all the "chemical freed" toxins etc that you state these panties are free of considering the recent study done in south africa where harmful hormone disrupting chemicals were found

Te reason that Blushproof® products are so well received is due to the fact that we have imported only the best fabrics for our underwear. From the very start, this has been something that we are not prepared to compromise on. What's important to understand is that the specific fabric customers need to be concerned about is the waterproofing layer (the same type of layer that pads have to prevent menstrual blood leaking straight through the pad). In the fabric world, this fabric is called PUL which stands for Polyurethane Laminate. So although all the fabrics are important to assess, the one that should really get your attention is the PUL layer.

Our PUL fabric is manufactured in the USA. As per the manufacturer, this fabric is:
100% Free of PFOS, PFOA, lead, dioxins, heavy metals & BPA; Free from phthalates: contains no DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP and DnOP;
100% eco-friendly;
CPSIA certified, meeting stringent standards by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission on lead and phthalates and flammability;
Very durable, tested to withstand 300+ washings;
Super soft, breathable and flexible.

A unique process permanently melt-bonds this specially-treated 1-mil TPU film to the fabric without toxic solvents - the process emits no toxic waste or VOCs that are harmful to the environment and is manufactured with no harmful chemicals or finishes in controlled conditions in American textile mills.

Can I tumble-dry my period panties?

Blushproof

Please DON'T tumble-dry your Blushproofs! The heat will melt the waterproofing layer, which will lead to leaks. Rather wash them in the machine and end with a quick spin cycle. You can also squash them between two towels after hand-washing to remove excess water. When hanging, find a sunny spot and hang them "open" - watch this video for an easy explanation.

Which absorption would you recommend for my teenage daughter who's just started her period?

Blushproof

Since young girls are generally still getting to terms with their flow, I would suggest more absorption rather than less. Although the moderate and heavy absorption have the same length "pad", the heavy has an additional absorbing layer, giving your daughter extra cover for long school days.
