Why have all my friends gotten their period and I haven’t?
Fact: Everyone develops at their own pace. The same way some friends go through a growth spurt in 5th grade and others in 9th grade, some will get their first period early and others a little later.
Average age of first periods
*Every body* is different, but most people get their first period between the ages of 10 and 15.
When will you get your first period? It’s hard to know for sure, but you can always ask your mom, aunt, or older sister when they got theirs — the age of first periods can be similar across family members.
You’ll get your period when your body is ready
If you haven’t gotten your first period yet and all your friends have, don’t freak out! Just because you’re the only one who hasn’t gotten their period—or the only one who *has* gotten theirs—doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. Your body will go through this change when it’s ready. Until then, ask allllll the questions so you feel prepared for your first period when it does happen.
